Scott Galloway Professor of Marketing, NYU Stern Founder, L2

Claude de Jocas Intelligence Group Director, L2

Claude is a Director in L2’s Intelligence Group, where she architects new methodologies to benchmark emerging topics in digital, and delivers strategic briefings to C-level executives. Fluent in e-commerce strategy, omnichannel, mobile, new media, and CRM, Claude has been featured on Bloomberg, CBC, CMO.com, Digiday and Luxury Daily. During her tenure at L2, she has presented insights to over 50 global member brands, including Chanel, Coach, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Sephora, Tiffany & Co., and Under Armour. Claude holds a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies from Yale University.

Professor Galloway founded L2 after developing an algorithm to assess the digital competence of brands. Scott is a Clinical Professor at the NYU Stern School of Business where he teaches brand strategy and digital marketing. In 2012, Professor Galloway was named “One of the World’s 50 Best Business School Professors” by Poets & Quants. He is also the founder of Red Envelope and Prophet Brand Strategy. Scott was elected to the World Economic Forum’s Global Leaders of Tomorrow and has served on the boards of directors of Eddie Bauer (NASDAQ: EBHI), The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT), Gateway Computer, and UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He received a B.A. from UCLA and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley.

Taylor Malmsheimer Research Analyst, L2

Taylor is a member of L2’s Intelligence Team. Prior to joining L2, Taylor interned at The New Republic and worked as a research assistant in Dartmouth College’s Geography Department. She graduated from Dartmouth with a B.A. in Government and Geography, focusing on political theory and journalism.

Maureen Mullen Co-Founder, Director of Research & Advisory, L2

Maureen leads L2’s research and advisory practice, where she helped develop the Digital IQ Index ® . She has benchmarked the digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media efforts of more than 300 brands across pharma, auto, luxury, specialty retail, beauty, and CPG. Maureen also has led digital strategy consulting engagements for a variety of Fortune 1000 clients. Before joining L2, Maureen was with Triage Consulting Group and led managed-care payment review and payment benchmarking projects for hospitals, including UCLA Medical Center, UCSF, and HCA. Maureen has a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern.

Julia Cagninelli Art Director, L2

At L2, Julia oversees the design of 70+ annual research reports and manages a team of five designers. Julia’s portfolio includes work for award-winning boutique agencies such as Red Tettemer and the VIA Agency, and TV networks including tbs and TNT. Julia received a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts.

Mikael Thygesen Chief Marketing Officer, Simon Property Group President, Simon Brand Ventures

Emily Pignatiello Designer, L2

Emily is a graphic designer with a strong focus on data visualization and infographics. Her graphics have been published on sites such as Mashable, Fast Company, and AdWeek and her previous clients include Google, Spotify, Microsoft, LinkedIn and more. Emily received her B.S. in Information Graphics and Publication Design from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication.

Mikael Thygesen is Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Simon, and is responsible for all marketing and consumer-related ventures across Simon’s three business platforms (Malls, Mills and Premium Outlets). Mikael joined Simon in 2002 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Before Simon, he served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Strategic Planning at Conseco, Inc. and worked as a Senior Associate at Booz Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Thygesen is on the board of directors for Indianapolis Downtown Inc. and the Boy Scouts Crossroads of America Council. He holds a B.S. in Finance and Decision Science from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a M.B.A. from the Columbia Business School.

John Rulli Chief Operating Officer Malls and Chief Administrative Officer, Simon Property Group

John Rulli is Chief Operating Officer Malls and Chief Administrative Officer of Simon. He has helped lead the integration of acquisitions since the company went public in 1993, including DeBartolo, CPI, IBM, New England Development Company, Prime Outlets and The Mills portfolios. Prior to joining Simon, Mr. Rulli served as Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Meret, Inc. He also held various positions over a seven-year period with Lazarus, a division of Federated Department stores, in Human Resources and Administration. Mr. Rulli is on the advisory board for Marshall University-Lewis College of Business. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Marshall University and attended graduate school at Ohio State University.
